DAILY QUOTE:

The law is the organization of the natural right of lawful defense. It is the substitution of a common force for individual forces. And this common force is to do only what the individual forces have a natural and lawful right to do: to protect persons, liberties, and properties; to maintain the right of each, and cause justice to reign over us all. (emphasis in original)
- Frederic Bastiat (The Law, p.3)

STILL ALIVE:

I must apologise to those of you who visit frequently for my extended and unexplained absence. My considerable obligations to the New Jersey Bar have been commanding a great deal of my time, as has my job. Of course, I did manage to slip away with my wife to Savannah, Ga. for a few days. That was exciting not just because I got to actually see my wife for an extended period of time (she's been out of town almost since we got married in April), but also because of Savannah itself. For those of you have never been, I suggest a trip soon. From the bars and shops along the waterfront, to the grand old mansions in the Historic District, to the myriad golf courses, river and ocean tours, and various other means of exploring this city, there are tons of things to see and do. The drive down and back from D.C. is a bit of a pain, but all told, this was a wonderful little get away. Upon my return, however, my NJ Bar obligations awaited as did a trip to Richmond to fulfill my Virginia State Bar obligations. I returned last night and this morning managed to find a few minutes to post a note, and to thank my readers for continuing to visit. I promise to post more often over the next few weeks.

N.B. I have something special to post on Wed., so y'all come back now. Hear?
